Carla Richmond, founder + director

Carla is a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, yoga and meditation facilitator, death doula, and mother whose work centers on helping people come into deeper relationship with themselves. With warmth, attunement, and respect for the uniqueness of each person’s experience, Carla creates spaces where people can slow down, listen inward, and welcome more of who they are. Her approach weaves together somatic embodiment, breathwork, parts work, timeline work, meditation, ritual, and intuitive practices to support greater clarity, connection, and aliveness.

Carla’s work is both gentle and profound. Rather than asking people to override, fix, or transcend what they are feeling, she invites curiosity toward the body and the inner landscape — creating room for what has been held, protected, forgotten, or waiting to be felt. Her path into this work grew from her own experiences with depression and addiction, which led her into years of study and practice with a wide range of teachers, healers, and contemplative traditions. Along the way, experiences of humility, grace, and connection transformed a deep sense of loneliness into greater joy, belonging, and trust in life. It is from this lived experience that Carla continues to share practices that have supported her own transformation. Her intention is not to offer a single way of healing, but to create accessible pathways through which people can reconnect with their bodies, their inner knowing, and a fuller experience of being alive.

Carla offers a weekly Somatic Kundalini class on Wednesdays at 10:30 at Light and Space in Echo Park.

Along with her partner, Ernest, Carla works with individuals and couples who want more than simply making their relationships work. Their work invites partners into greater honesty, intimacy, embodiment, play, and connection.

Carla holds a BA in Sociology and is trained and certified in the following healing modalities: Alchemy of Self Realization, Alchemy Somatics Healer Training, Advanced Alchemy Somatics Training, 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training, Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, Going with Grace Death Doula Training, Reiki level 2 attunement, Family Constellations, Tantra, Imago Conscious Communication, The Aquarian Child.

Madre Jaguar

Madre Jaguar is a Birth Doula, Seer, Mayan Time Keeper and Healing Practitioner of Mayan, Pipil, Nahual and Garifuna descent. Born in Los Angeles, CA to Salvadoran immigrants and raised in Mexico, their practice is rooted in their ancestral heritage and indigenous traditions of Mesoamerica. Madre has always walked between the worlds. Ever since they can remember, Madre Jaguar has experienced visions, prophetic dreams, visitations and a strong clear connection to their Spirit team.

Nature was their first teacher. Most of their childhood was spent observing and studying the cycles and seasons of Earth, connecting and experimenting with the energy of the elements, animals, herbs, plants, flowers, rocks, crystals and beings seen and unseen. As a child, their maternal grandmother taught Madre Jaguar ways to communicate with the plant kingdom; to sing to them and to listen to their songs. Their Abuela also taught them ways in which these plant allies could be used to treat all kinds of ailments from a tummy ache to a broken heart.

As an adult, a passion for helping others and a strong desire to help propel positive change in the world, led Madre Jaguar on a path of self-discovery and exploration of different healing modalities including Curanderismo, Reiki and Energy Healing, Shamanic Practices, Folk Magic, Herbalism and Tarot. They have studied and continue to learn from indigenous healers and teachers in Mexico, Central and South America.

Madre Jaguar believes that Love is our super power. As human beings we are here to bless and be blessed by all of creation. Harmony and Joy are our birthright. Through their healing practice, readings, classes and projects Madre Jaguar’s goal is to help you connect with the inner power, wisdom and magic that lies within; all while helping you remember your Divine origin and unique soul purpose.
